ZBRUSH for Digital Sculpting

course Information

This course is designed to give students a practical and functional understanding of working with the cutting-edge sculpting software, ZBrush. It allows 3D modeling artists to expand their creativity and ideas through sculpting which will enable stunning details and textures to be presented as an image or rendered as a movie turntable. ZBrush can also be used with other 3D programs such as Autodesk Maya or 3dsMax to create high resolution models for feature films or generate detailed textures with normal maps in Next Generation Games for PS4, Xbox One and other high-end PC games. During this course, students will learn very important aspects of this software interface as well as many powerful tools such as Zsphere, GOz, Lightbox and many other functions to achieve high quality and applicable results.

This WSQ Autodesk 3dsmax course will enable students to be up to speed and competent with the usage of the 3dsMax software. This course is designed for students without any knowledge in any CG applications; however, students who are looking at software conversion between Maya and 3ds Max will also find this course very suitable. This course is not designed to enable student to create a demo reel at the end. With the objective of mastering the software, the course is designed with assignments to progressively allow beginners to learn and flow into other more complicated aspects of the software. At the end of the course, the student will have a clear understanding of the usage of Autodesk 3ds Max.

In this course, students will gain new skill sets in understanding the pipeline to create beautiful and realistic 3D architectural visuals, ranging from the design to construction industry. Using proper modeling techniques and texturing methodologies used in CG films and environment, students will be able to create their very own assets ranging from furniture, outdoor props, simplified character modeling to big building structures. Areas such as Modeling Hardsurface, Texturing and Shading,  ArcViz Materials, Rendering methodsPresentation Techniques, will be covered extensively within the course.

Traditional Clay Sculpting

In this WSQ Clay Sculpting Techniques course, you study how underlying muscles and bone structures affect the true form of the human body, and using sculpey clay to learn the step-by-step techniques to sculpting a character Marquette. From the creation and preparation of the Marquette’s skeleton structure to the techniques on building up and layering sculpey on armature for the head sculpting, students will graduate with a bust sculpture.
