3D ANIMATION, VFX & 3D MODELING
Graduate with a WSQ Diploma in Media (Visual Graphics) conferred by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
This 12-month intensive program is designed for aspiring animators and VFX artists who dream of crafting digital characters, bringing moving images to life, and mastering the advanced techniques of 3D animation, visual effects, and 3D modeling.
Through this immersive course, you'll receive hands-on training with industry-standard programs like Autodesk Maya, V-Ray, and Unreal Engine. You'll acquire the skills to animate lifelike creatures, design visually compelling scenes, and create feature-film-quality projects.
POSSIBLE CAREER PATHS
- Visual Effects (VFX) Artist: Creates and integrates realistic effects and animations into live-action footage, enhancing storytelling through cutting-edge technology in films and commercials.
- 3D Animator: Brings characters and objects to life using animation techniques, working on projects such as feature films, animated series, and video games.
- 3D Modeler: Specializes in creating detailed and accurate 3D models for various media, including films, video games, and product visualizations.
- CG Generalist: Focuses on creating and integrating various elements of 3D scenes, including modeling, texturing, and lighting, enhancing mood, atmosphere, and realism in animated films and visual effects.
- Technical Director: Oversees the technical aspects of animation and visual effects production, ensuring smooth workflows and problem-solving technical challenges during the project lifecycle.

CURRICULUM

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
The 3D Animation VFX and 3D Modeling program consists of three terms conducted over one academic year. Classes include full-day and half-day sessions focused on software training, Computer graphcis design principles, and project applications. The curriculum transitions from foundational generalist training to specialization in areas such as Character Animation, Visual Effects and Film Modeling, culminating in a polished portfolio that showcases your creative expertise.
CURRICULUM BREAKDOWN
You’ll begin by building a strong foundation in the CG pipeline, learning essential skills like animation principles, lighting, rendering, and compositing. Through hands-on practice with industry-standard software such as Maya, Photoshop, Nuke, and ZBrush, you’ll develop a generalist skillset, ready to tackle term 2 & 3.

Derrick Song

Teo Chia Kai

Derrick is a seasoned professional in the animation and visual effects industries, with over 12 years of experience as a Concept Artist and Modeler. His career includes a notable role as Art Director at Zealot Digital, where he led teams specializing in Character Modeling, Special Effects, Animation, and Background Design. Derrick's leadership and creative vision have been instrumental in delivering high-quality projects that resonate with audiences.
Passionate about nurturing the next generation of artists, Derrick joined 3dsense to share his extensive knowledge and expertise. His commitment to fostering professional development in students is reflected in the hands-on, industry-focused VFX course curriculum, which empowers students to master software and build a portfolio that demonstrates their creative ability and expertise.

Chia Kai graduated from NUS with a Master in Architecture. In 2017, he took a career switch into the illustration and concept art industry. Here at 3dsense, Chiakai brings with him his passion for digital illustration, he is instrumental in molding the next generation of CG Talents here at 3dsense.



Michael Rafanan

Teo Chia Kai

Michael is a Creative Generalist specializing in CG and VFX production, with extensive experience in the VFX industry as a Designer, 2D Animation Supervisor, and Short Film Director. With a background in Architecture and Interior Design, he has collaborated with notable brands such as Hermes Watches, DKNY, Estée Lauder, Robinsons, and Marks & Spencer.
Beginning his career as an independent artist, Michael has produced a wide range of work, including pre-production art, pre-visualization, 2D/3D animation, visual effects, rendering, and video editing for projects like New Zealand’s Kiwi & Cat. His diverse portfolio also encompasses design, videography, photography, advertising, and NFTs. Michael's short films have garnered over 15 million views and have been featured in several prestigious film festivals.

Justin Kwek

Michael Rafanan

Justin Kwek is a talented game animator with ten years of experience in the games industry. A proud alumnus of 3dsense Media School, Justin has made significant contributions to multiple AAA titles, showcasing his expertise in-game animation and character creation.
Throughout his career, Justin has had the privilege of working with prestigious studios such as Omens, Tecmo Koei, and Ubisoft Singapore and has worked on notable franchises like Persona, Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest. His diverse experience spans various aspects of game animation, where he has honed his skills in creating engaging and dynamic game characters and bringing them to life in video games. His technical understanding of game engines like Unreal Engine and Unity Game Engine ensures students are prepared for both concept art and game design careers.

Michael is a Creative Generalist who leans toward the CG & VFX side of production. He has also taken roles as a Designer, 2D Animation Supervisor & Short Film Director. With a background in Architecture & Interior Design, he worked with brands like Hermes Watches, DKNY, Estee Lauder, Robinsons & Marks and Spencer.
He started out as an independent artist creating diverse work from Pre-production art, Pre-viz, 2D/3D Animation & Effects, Rendering to Video Editing contributing to productions such as New Zealand’s Kiwi & Cat. His short films currently total to at least 15 million views, some of which were entered into notable film festivals.

To apply for our 3D Animation, VFX & 3D Modeling Diploma program, prospective students should have a strong foundation in drawing skills and a passion for animation and visual effects. A basic understanding of fine arts and graphic design can also be beneficial, but not required. Admission is based on creative potential and dedication to learning.
